Nursery Ministry at MOQ

NURSERY Ministry would serve the young families of our parish by opening a nursery on Sunday mornings between the Masses so that parents are able to attend Adult Faith Formation. We need at least two adults who have completed the Archdiocese of Atlanta Safe Environment process to give an hour of their time to help our parish grow and be a place where young parents feel welcome.

If you are interested in serving on our Nursery Ministry, please contact us through the form below:

Peachtree Elementary Outreach

PEACHTREE ELEMENTARY OUTREACH is dedicated to supporting our local elementary school to make a positive impact on the educational experience and well-being of the school community. We aim to provide students and teachers with essential supplies throughout the year, help coordinate MOQ’s Angel Tree drive to bring joy to the children and bridge the gaps in resources that may not be covered by the county.

Father Mike Schmitz Speaks at Notre Dame

Volumes have been written and much recorded via other media, about the Holy Eucharist being the source and summit of our Catholic faith, yet many overlook or deny the truth about the Eucharist as taught by Jesus, Himself.  Many others, while they maintain belief in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, would be well served by some gentle and beautiful reminders, of just how important the Eucharist is in our eternal lives. The below video is one such reminder for them, and maybe a catalyst for those who may have allowed their belief to drift from the Gospel truth about the Eucharist being the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ. Father Mike Schmitt is a gifted and dynamic speaker. The entire video of his presentation at Notre Dame 3 years ago is about an hour and ten minutes (and is remarkable), but if you are unable to set aside that much time, please consider advancing to 32 minutes and 10 seconds into the video and watch the final 39 minutes or so. Father Mike’s presentation is transformational. Enjoy!

Loretto Homeschool Ministry

We welcome you to Mary Our Queen’s Loretto Ministry!

Loretto is a new Mary Our Queen ministry where Catholic families come together and plan shared events for their children, themselves, and others. Made up of primarily home-school families, Loretto organizes wholesome, family-friendly, and virtue-building activities around our faith affirming the Catholic Church’s time-honored teachings.

Through Loretto, Catholic families share resources to provide their children with faith-filled experiences. Loretto reaches out across parish boundaries, but also within our parish, to share our faith and to build a stronger Catholic life in our community.

Offerings will include informational sessions, resource sharing, family-friendly events around the liturgical calendar, field trips, teen events, mother support, and family events. We often join efforts with Holy Family TORCH to provide our families with more opportunities. Please see the contact for TORCH information below.

Questions about our ministry? Please contact Lori Snowberger, Loretto Ministry Leader, at loretto@maryourqueen.com

The Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist with Bishop Baron

Enjoy the YouTube video (view below) of Bishop Robert Barron’s presentation to the 2020 Religious Education Congress. Please be aware the presentation is about 75 minutes long but truly worth setting aside the time to watch. All the early Church Fathers believed in and taught the Real Presence. The Church’s teachings haven’t changed for millennia, but the beliefs of many of our fellow Catholics have. Hopefully, this information will enrich you and your family.

Archdiocese of Atlanta Eucharistic Revival

Our world is hurting. We all need healing, yet many of us have separated ourselves from the very source of our strength. Jesus Christ invites us to return to the source and summit of our faith in the celebration of the Eucharist. The National Eucharistic Revival has been initiated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to restore understanding and devotion to this great mystery here in the United States by helping us renew our worship of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. The Revival was spurred on by the Pew Research Forum’s (2019) Survey findings that only one in three who identify themselves as Catholic believe in the Real Presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

National Eucharistic Revival: Go here to read about a Grassroots Response to God’s Invitation

While some might say they are not surprised by these statistics, as only about half of Catholics actively practice their faith, the Pew Forum’s data also showed that two out of three who are “weekly” Mass goers believe in the Real Presence. Clearly, many have lost their way, or their belief – but even for those who do believe, a revival of our devotion is in order.

Over the next year, we will be providing resources HERE that will enrich your understanding of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
