What is Youth RCIA?
RCIA stands for Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. This is a process by which anyone over the age of seven is received into the Catholic Church (non-Catholics) or completes the sacraments of initiation (Catholics) through faith development focusing on prayer, sacraments, and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Who should participate in Youth RCIA?
Non-Catholics
As a non-Catholic, there are three main things that determine whether or not you should participate in Youth RCIA
- Want to become Catholic
- Aged 7-17
- Never baptized (or are baptized, but not in the Catholic Church)
Catholics
As a Catholic, there are three main things that determine whether or not you should participate in Youth RCIA
- Baptized Catholic
- Never received First Communion and/or Confirmation
- Age 7-17 (Grade 3-12)
