Adult and Teen Faith Formation Volunteers

Mary Our Queen faith formation programs would not be able to function without the continued support of our parents and parishioners. As part of a growing community, we need all the help and support we can obtain! EFF Catechists will be given a 30% discount off their child’s normal tuition cost. You will also be given all the tools you need to be a wonderful asset to the classroom.

Please consider volunteering your time and talents to one or more of these positions:

Catechist: Leads formation class with given teaching guidelines, maintains classroom management, and creates a welcoming environment for children to explore their faith.

Assistant Catechist: Supports catechist with child faith formation, helps maintain classroom management, and adds a valuable example of living the Catholic faith.

Attendance Keeper: Helps parents sign-in their children

Materials Assistant: Aids the youth faith formation coordinator in preparing materials for catechists

Vacation Bible School: Helps with one or more of the many tasks needed to run a successful VBS.

VIRTUS Training available at MOQ

VIRTUS TRAINING AVAILABLE AT MOQ: May 11th from 1 pm to 4 pm. All volunteers interested in working with children will need to attend this training. Our own Deacon Bill Boyd will present VIRTUS to our adult volunteers. If interested, please register to attend the session through the Archdiocese of Atlanta Safe Environment web site HERE

General Safe Environment Volunteer Guidelines

The Archdiocese of Atlanta requires that all adult volunteers (18 years old or older) working with children, youth, and/or vulnerable individuals must complete the Safe Environment training (VIRTUS) and undergo a background screening before they start volunteering.

As an adult volunteer, please provide your legal name and current email through the online form below and we will happily send you the information to complete per the Archdiocese of Atlanta.

In addition, volunteers must be familiar with the Reporting Child Abuse Guidelines. To view these guidelines, CLICK HERE.

Volunteers who are 13 years old or older should complete the Volunteer Application for Minors with their parent’s permission, and the School Reference for Minors form.  Homeschooled minors must provide three references (non-family members).
