Encounter: Experiencing God in the Everyday is more than a Bible study program. It is a life-changing experience that speaks directly to the hearts and minds of middle school-aged kids. Designed specifically for 6th-8th grades, Encounter uses the color-coded Bible Timeline learning system to reveal the story of our faith and God’s plan for our lives.
As your students are drawn into this story, they will come to a new and profound understanding of who God is. Most importantly, they will see God not as a distant doctrinal concept, but as a loving Father who desires a menaningful and lasting encounter with them.
Follow Me
October 15 – November 24, 2018
The YDisciple experience begins with the first invitation from Jesus himself: “Follow Me.” This five-week study lays the foundation of what it is to be a disciple of Jesus, including the relevant take away for personal living and the commitment both the members and leaders of the YDisciple group will need to for successful times together.
The Church
January 9 – February 6, 2019
Views about the Church can be as varied as its members or critics. What exactly is the Church? How can it be a trustworthy representation of Christ while filled with flawed human beings? How is it both ancient and timeless, seemingly outdated yet more necessary and relevant than ever? Why should the voice of the Church be heard above all other voices claiming to speak the truth? This YDisciple course explores the truths and myths about the Church, including where it came from, why it still exists, and what role young disciples are supposed to play in it.
Altaration
The Mass as Teens Have Never Seen it Before
October 14 – November 11, 2018
February 20 – April 3, 2019
Altaration addresses head-on one of the biggest problems we all face: how to we get Catholic teens to appreciate the awesome beauty and mystery of the Mass…and to actually look forward to attending and participating?
Through a unique learning experience, including powerful cinematography and workbook resources, teens will come to see the Mass and the priesthood in a dramatically new way. Altaration is designed to stir thought, create conversation, dispel myths, and inspire young souls to a deep and lasting love for the Mass. The goal of Altaration is not to fill teens’ heads with information but to pierce their hearts with transformation.
Hot Topics
April 24 – May 1, 2019
April 28 – May 5, 2019
Hot Topics are one of the opportunities to engage youth and YDisciple groups with the issues that are impacting their lives. Countering the relativism that drives the culture today, Hot Topics helps youth engage their critical thinking without being spoon-fed the answers. Each discussion puts the topic at hand within the framework of Catholic teaching, but gives members a chance to own their conclusions and, ultimately, allows them to give a “defense” of the Truth in their world. Or, as the Apostle Paul stated: “Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ” (Ephesians 4:15).
Modern Media
February 24 – April 7, 2019
Now more than ever, media is a pervasive and persuasive reality in the lives of young people. The web, social networks, data plans, Wi-Fi, texting, smartphones, tablets, headphones … it seems like everyone is connected to one kind of device or another. And it has unprecedented influence on their lives and thinking. That’s why this YDisciple course looks truthfully at media, puts it in a Christian context, and shows how young people can learn to discern what they’re seeing and hearing while surfing the tidal wave of constant sensory input.
Chosen
Life-Changing Faith Formation for Teens
Part 1: September 9-30, 2018
Part 2: January 6 – February 10, 2019
Chosen: This Is Your Catholic Faith takes young people on a journey through the entire Catholic faith in all its richness and vitality. Teens will be captivated by the story, from Creation all the way through salvation history, and they will come to see how the sacraments, prayer, and discipleship are the keys to a happy life. The goal of this 24-lesson program is nothing short of winning over the hearts of teens and making them lifelong disciples of Christ.

- Each block has a $25 fee.
