November 3, 2024 – The Significance of Advent and our Jubilee Year of Hope
Join us this week for our full family catechesis! First, we will discover the significance of Advent and its role in the liturgical calendar as we learn how to embrace this season as a time of joyful anticipation. We’ll explore how the Church’s traditions can guide families in keeping Christ at the center of their celebrations. After we are done exploring the season of Advent, we will prepare to enter a Holy Jubilee Year! On the Eve of Christ our Lord’s birth, the Holy Doors will be opened, and we will enter into a Year of Hope. Join us as we discuss what a Jubilee year is and how, as families, we can intentionally pray for and embrace this Year of Hope that our Church and world so desperately need right now.
November 10, 2024 – Peter & the Papacy
At the Last Supper, when the Apostles were arguing amongst themselves about which of them was the greatest, Jesus made clear that if they were to participate in his authority, they were to make themselves as he had, a servant. This week we look at the man that Jesus chose to build his Church upon, Saint Peter, and explore the servant leadership that is supposed to be evident in the papacy.
November 17, 2024 – Communion of Saints & the Blessed Virgin Mary
Join us as we look at the family that God has created through the ages. We will focus on the Woman, who in the aftermath of the Fall, God promised to send to crush the head of Satan. Through her flesh God decided to become man and redeem the race who had rejected him. Mary shows us the great gifts and love that God has for man and what he desires for us to be.
November 24, 2024 – The Last Things
Death, Judgment, Heaven, and Hell – The Last Things – The Church has always recommended that we keep them at the forefront of our minds. This week, we will investigate each so that when we meditate on the reality of our current lives, we will not be unaware of the things which are to come.
