Remember the Embers! There are four times a year when, by tradition, Catholics fast or do penance, or do some work for the poor. This time-honored tradition is almost forgotten, but they are great time of seasonal change when we could stand to pause and reflect a bit more on the Lord’s mercy, and on our call for conversion. These four times of the year are called Ember Days. Ember Days are always Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays of the same week. We have our Fall Ember Days coming up. To mark the Ember Days, Fr. Byrd will be hearing confessions on the following days:
- Wednesday, September 17: from 11:00 am to 11:45 am before the noon Mass
- Friday, September 19: from 11:00 am to 11:45 am before the noon Mass
- Saturday, September 20: Normal Confession time: 3:30pm to 4:30pm before the 5pm Vigil Mass
